What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

As a Member of Technical Staff, you will design and implement objects on the ERP Finance platforms that leverages Oracle Technologies in the Invoice to Revenue recognition business process. You would be responsible for delivering IT projects which enables business to effectively manage VMware’s SaaS and License product portfolios. Delivery of the projects would mean engaging with business analysts for requirement discussions, scoping, resource management, technical solutioning, working with various teams in the line of delivery including release teams, QA, change management etc. You would be owning end to end responsibility of delivery from development to production deployment and support.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

During the first 6-12 months you will:

  • Demonstrate strong technical skills in authoring simple and robust technical design that takes into account supportability and zero-defect considerations.
  • Demonstrate application development skills using Oracle technologies, (Oracle Database, SQL/PLSQL)
  • Demonstrate a strong foundation of Java and other skills in the J2EE technology stack
  • Partner with Finance Product Owners to deliver strategic projects
  • Demonstrate strong debugging skills and analysis of complex Oracle PL/SQL programs
  • Engage in performance tuning of issues encountered with long running SQL queries and PL/SQL programs.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

As part of the Invoice to Revenue team:

  • You would be participating and collaborating with business analysts and product owners for all requirement discussions
  • You would align to Agile delivery in SDLC process. You would be delivering projects in continuous integration and continuous delivery model
  • You would translate business requirements to a good technical design, which delivers scalable, efficient technical solution and work individually or as a team to deliver
  • You would adopt test driven methodology and automated unit testing framework to ensure quality deliverables to test environments
  • You would work with various cross domain technical teams to understand the overall architectural blueprint and align solutions to meet established standards
  • You would drive technical solutions and coordinate with the cross-domain teams as and when required.

The Senior Manager for Finance Applications leads a multi-dimensional team, composed of engineering and product management professionals focused on delivering projects which enables business to effectively manage VMware’s SaaS and License product portfolios.

You will have an opportunity to team up with a geographically distributed team of Engineers and Product Managers in US, Canada, Costa Rica, Ireland, and India.
